DESCRIPTION:Keep Polk County Beautiful\, Inc. in partnership with Polk County Government is bringing their “Clean It Up to Green It Up” Program back to the Inwood Community on Saturday\, November 22\, 2025.   This cleanup does not include the City of Winter Haven Residents. \nResidents in these communities are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this program that will consist of a large-scale trash pick-up throughout these selected communities only (clean sweep).  This program will provide disposal of items that are NOT generally collected with their residential garbage only such as household construction debris (shingles\, drywall\, etc.)\, excessive bulk and yard waste on THIS DAY ONLY.  Absolutely NO tires\, hazardous waste or appliances containing freon will be collected curbside.  All households are asked to participate by placing these items by the curb no later than 6am for this one-day event.   Please do not place these items out more than 48 hours prior to the event.  No mixed piles with yard waste will be picked up. \nTrash hauling services have been donated by FCC.

SUMMARY:GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP
DESCRIPTION:The GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP is a nationwide cleanup initiative led by Keep America Beautiful. This cleanup event has taken place across the country for the past 39 years throughout the months of March\, April and May annually. \nThe first 1\,500 volunteers\, who pre-register will receive a FREE T-Shirt and ticket to Bok Tower Gardens (while supplies are available).  \nCleanup volunteers are provided with garbage bags (buckets if available)\, gloves and safety vests. Additional cleanup and beautification supplies are available by request.  All beautification requests must be submitted in writing to the KPCB office no later than 3 weeks BEFORE your requested cleanup date to be considered. \nDumpsters are available to communities in need for large community based cleanup efforts and illegal dumpsite cleanup.  For approval\, please submit your request in writing 30 days before proposed cleanup.  (Dumpsters are limited and each request will be considered based on community need and projected participation) \nThis is a great opportunity for students to earn community service hours! Volunteers are encouraged to choose a location in their local community to help clean and beautify.  Lakes\, roadways\, rivers and parks are great locations for volunteers to participate in the Great American Cleanup.
