Adopt-A-Park

YOU can help instill a sense of pride in your local community by working together with KPCB to keep our local parks beautiful and litter free!

We are excited to announce that we are now offering the Adopt-A-Park Program throughout Unincorporated Polk County and to now include the City of Winter Haven!!

The basics of the Adopt-A-Park program are:

  • A group agrees to adopt a County or City of Winter Haven Park (or a portion of) and agrees to pick up litter at least FOUR times a year for a two-year period.
  • The group agrees to submit a Liability and Photo Release Form and a Wrap-Up Report after each cleanup.

In return, Keep Polk County Beautiful and our partners agree to:

  • Provide safety and cleanup equipment, trash bags, and trash collection.
  • Erect a recognition sign at the entrance of the adopted park to identify the group doing the litter pickup.

Adopting a Park will reinforce the importance of litter control.  This Litter Prevention Program targets litter and illegal dumping throughout Polk County.

The benefits to this program are a litter-free, more attractive community, recognition signs for the group, and a feeling that the individuals involved are making a difference in their community.

The best part is, this program is FREE to you!  Make a difference.  Be the difference.  Volunteer!

City of Winter Haven — Winter Haven also is home to many neighborhood and community parks, which contain playgrounds and many other amenities. The city is also home to more than 13 miles of trails. Trails range from a 1/3 mile loop trail at the Lake Hartridge Nature Park to 1.5 miles of trail on Lake Howard to the 3.6 mile Chain of Lakes Trail, which serves as the spine of the trail system.
